Why bother?

I want a lightweight YT frontend to view YT videos.

What I got?

There are several web apps for this exact purpose.

• The most famous is invidious (written in crystal+rust+typescript).
• The second is piped (java).
• The last is youtube-local (python).

Since I am comfortable with python, I go with youtube-local.

This is just an experiment, there is no guarantee that the wsgi powered web frontend will be available all the time.
